Check your post length against ten platform limits at once, counted the way each one counts
The Social Media Character Counter checks one piece of text against the limits of ten platforms at once: X, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest. Instead of pasting the same caption into ten apps to find out where it breaks, you write it once and see which platforms it fits, which are close, and which will cut it off. It counts the way the platforms do rather than the way JavaScript does: emoji are measured as the single characters people see, X bills links at 23 and non-Latin scripts double, and Mastodon bills links at 23 as well.

Type or paste the post you are planning to publish.
Tick X Premium if you pay for it, which raises that limit from 280 to 25,000.
Check each platform card: the bar and its color show whether you are comfortably under, close to the edge, or over.
Trim until every platform you are posting to shows green, then copy the text.
X caps standard posts at 280, a leftover constraint from its SMS origins that it kept while everyone else moved to long formats. Paying accounts get 25,000, which is what the Premium tick box switches to. The counter also applies X's own arithmetic: every link counts as exactly 23 characters however long it really is, and anything outside basic Latin, including emoji and CJK, counts double.
