About Schema Markup Generator

The Schema Markup Generator writes JSON-LD structured data from a form, for fourteen schema.org types: Article, Product, Local Business, Organization, Breadcrumbs, Event, Recipe, Video, Job Posting, Software App, Review, Profile Page, Website and FAQ Page. Each field is marked with what Google's documentation asks for, required or recommended, and the check under the code tells you whether the page is eligible for that type's rich result, which fields are still empty and which values are in the wrong format. Empty fields are left out of the output, prices come out as numbers, durations and dates in the ISO 8601 form schema.org expects, and video key moments get their offsets and links worked out for you.

How to use Schema Markup Generator

  1. 1

Pick what the page is about: a product, a recipe, an event, an article and so on.

  2. 2

Fill in the fields, starting with the ones marked required. The JSON-LD on the right updates as you type.

  3. 3

Read the rich result check under the code and add whatever it lists as missing.

  4. 4

Copy the script block into the page's HTML, then run the page through Google's Rich Results Test once it is live.

Frequently Asked Questions

The one that describes the main thing the page is about. A page selling one item is a Product, a page with a single recipe is a Recipe, a page announcing a gig is an Event. A category page listing twenty products is not a Product page, and marking it up as one is a common reason rich results never appear. Breadcrumbs can go on almost any page alongside the main type.
