Cursive Text Generator

Script, bold script and gothic blackletter versions of your text, with every letter rendered

0 characters

These are Unicode characters, not fonts, so they paste into bios, captions and display names on almost every platform. Handles are the exception: no major platform accepts them there. X counts most of them as two characters each, and screen readers may spell them out letter by letter or skip them. Check a styled post in the social media character counter before you publish it.

About Cursive Text Generator

The Cursive Text Generator writes your text in script and gothic lettering: regular cursive, bold cursive, gothic (fraktur) and bold gothic, with every other style one tap away under All. Regular cursive is the hard one to get right. Eleven of its letters, B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R, e, g and o, live in Unicode's older Letterlike Symbols block instead of the math alphabet, and generators that work by arithmetic leave empty boxes in their place. This one uses the right character for each, so a word like Hello comes out whole. Gothic has five such letters, C, H, I, R and Z, handled the same way.

The guide behind this tool

Why Cursive Text Looks Different on Every Phone

Unicode names the letter and your device draws it. Why the same cursive bio looks like copperplate on one phone and a calligraphy pen on another.

How to use Cursive Text Generator

  1. 1

Type a name, a word or a short line. Script is decorative, so short text works best.

  2. 2

Compare regular and bold cursive. Bold reads better at small sizes and looks more consistent across phones.

  3. 3

Copy the version you like and paste it into your display name, bio or caption.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each system draws these characters with its own font, and the designers interpreted script differently. The letters are identical underneath; only the drawing changes.
