Bubble Text Generator

Letters and numbers in white or black circles and squares, plus parenthesized letters

0 characters

These are Unicode characters, not fonts, so they paste into bios, captions and display names on almost every platform. Handles are the exception: no major platform accepts them there. X counts most of them as two characters each, and screen readers may spell them out letter by letter or skip them. Check a styled post in the social media character counter before you publish it.

About Bubble Text Generator

The Bubble Text Generator encloses your letters and numbers in shapes: white circles, black circles, white squares, black squares and parentheses. White circles are the only full set, with lowercase letters, capitals and the digits 0 to 9. The black and square styles exist only as capitals, because they were encoded for Japanese broadcast television, which never needed lowercase, so the tool turns small letters into capitals there instead of leaving them out. A few enclosed capitals are also emoji, so on some phones ๐Ÿ…ฐ, ๐Ÿ…ฑ, ๐Ÿ…พ and ๐Ÿ…ฟ appear as coloured tiles in the middle of a word.

The guide behind this tool

Bubble Letters in Unicode, and Why ๐Ÿ…ฐ Sometimes Turns Into an Emoji

Circled letters came from Japanese contracts and broadcast TV. Five of them are also emoji, which is why a word in black squares can sprout a red tile.

How to use Bubble Text Generator

  1. 1

Type a short word or name. Enclosed letters are wide, so they suit a few characters better than a sentence.

  2. 2

Choose between the five bubble and box styles at the top of the list.

  3. 3

Check the result for emoji-coloured letters if you picked Black Square, and switch to Square if they clash.

  4. 4

Copy and paste it into your bio or display name.

Frequently Asked Questions

๐Ÿ…ฐ, ๐Ÿ…ฑ, ๐Ÿ…พ and ๐Ÿ…ฟ in the black square style are also emoji, and many phones draw them in colour. The white Square style has no emoji letters, so it stays consistent.
